WHO AM I?

In this section, I would like to introduce myself both personally and professionally as a lecturer. Below is my profile, along with several experiences I have gained throughout my academic career.

My full name is Ni Luh Putu Dian Yunita Sari. My colleagues and students usually call me Dian. For your information, I am the first child in my family, as indicated by the traditional Balinese name “Putu.” My parents work in the healthcare sector dan I have one younger brother who works as a physiotherapist. I am married to a Balinese man and have a daughter. My entire family is native Balinese.

I currently serve as the Chief of the Training and Human Resource Development Division at Stikes Bina Usada Bali, where one of the primary programs is international collaboration, established since 2025. In this role, I am responsible for ensuring that international academic activities within the institution are conducted effectively and in accordance with the targeted academic standards and principles. I coordinate closely with module coordinators, teachers, and administrative staff to ensure that international academic programs, particularly the Health and Harmony Minor Program, are implemented smoothly, effectively, and in an academically appropriate manner.

I decided to pursue a career in education in 2016, shortly after completing my Bachelor of Nursing degree in 2015. Since childhood, I have had a deep love for school and education. I have always viewed teachers as individuals who bring light in the midst of darkness. Likewise, I strongly believe that education is the most effective pathway to improving one’s life. One piece of advice from my parents that I continue to hold firmly is: “Education is the greatest inheritance, because it cannot be stolen by anyone. Even better, it grows as you share it with others.” This belief has strengthened my conviction to dedicate my life to the field of education.

The first step in realizing this vision was continuing my studies at the University of Indonesia, the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in Indonesia, to pursue a master’s degree and nursing specialist qualification. I began my studies in 2017 and graduated in 2020 with a Master’s degree and a specialization in Community Health Nursing. I am grateful to have graduated with Cum Laude honors and to have been recognized as the best graduate at this level. Subsequently, I began my career as a lecturer in 2021. In the same year, I completed the National Training on the Enhancement of Basic Instructional Skills, which is one of the requirements for obtaining national lecturer certification. After fulfilling additional requirements and assessments, I was officially recognized as a nationally certified professional educator in 2023.

Over the past several years, my experience as a lecturer has included teaching undergraduate nursing students, serving as an external examiner for undergraduate theses at the University of Indonesia, supervising professional nursing students, and working as a teacher in the Healthy and Happy Aging Minor Program at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, which since 2026 has changed its name to Health and Harmony. In addition, I have been actively involved as a researcher, speaker, moderator, and contributor to community service activities. My primary academic interest lies in improving the health and well-being of older adults, and I have developed several research projects in this area that also serve as foundational teaching materials in my classes. I have successfully received research grants from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia in 2022, 2023, and 2025 under the Basic Research Scheme. Furthermore, my research has also been funded by several institutions, including Trilogi University, The Association of Indonesian Nurse Education Center (AINEC), and Mangusada General Hospital. Several of my research articles have been published in SCOPUS-indexed journals. I have also received several awards in recent years, including being recognized as an Outstanding Lecturer at Stikes Bina Usada Bali twice, in 2022 and 2025.

I firmly believe that a lecturer must continuously stay up to date with the latest information and evidence-based data. Therefore, I consistently motivate myself to engage in professional development, conduct research, and contribute to community service. Through scholarly writing and research, a lecturer can consistently provide high-quality and relevant knowledge to students. In addition, I recognize that professional training to enhance teaching and learning skills is essential. For this reason, I hope to further improve my teaching competencies by participating in the BDSQ training program.
